About me

Hi, I’m Patrick Seltmann – in my mid-30s, a passionate IT architect focused on hybrid Microsoft infrastructures, with 20 years of experience in IT.

My career started in the data center operations of a university in Saxony, where I was responsible for endpoint management as a service owner. I initially worked with DX-Union but later replaced it with System Center Configuration Manager 2007 and later SCCM 2012. Additionally, I managed the central Microsoft SQL Server cluster.

Over time, I became more and more fascinated by identity management – especially Active Directory architecture and its security aspects. As cloud transformation gained momentum, I dived deeper into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Today, I navigate both worlds – on-premises and cloud – with confidence, focusing on optimizing hybrid Microsoft infrastructures with an emphasis on security, automation, and standardization.

Professionally, my main areas of expertise are Identity & Access Management (Active Directory, Entra ID), Endpoint Management (Intune), and Microsoft Defender XDR. My goal is to help organizations build secure and efficient IT infrastructures and accelerate cloud transformation.

Standing still is not an option for me – neither professionally nor personally. When I’m not working on new solutions (never-ending smart home projects), I love spending time outdoors with my dogs to unwind. I’m more of a mountain person than a beach vacationer and enjoy road cycling – preferably on the scenic roads of central Saxony.
